NOTES ON KENTUCKY BLUEGRASS

  • Kentucky Bluegrass is the most popular type of lawn grass in the Midwest.
  • Proprietary bluegrass varieties are deep green and beautiful.
  • Plant bluegrass alone or mixed with ryegrass, creeping red fescue, or turf-type tall fescue. All will provide an excellent lawn.
  • Bluegrass does, however, take the most maintenance of any turfgrass. And it will go dormant before ryegrasses and tall fescues.
  • Expect germination in 20-25 days.
  • If you enjoy working in the yard and are willing to invest the time to have a great lawn, this blend may be what you’re looking for.
